one two one two…
Some of you may wonder why I refer to “music based” references and that’s because it’s what I love. I enjoy music, the art of creating, performing, and listening to it and at times it help me to capture a thought and verbalize it through words. Often times, I want to make sure you are hearing what I’m saying. That you are grasping the concept and utilizing it to your benefit. If I say, “Mic Check. One, Two, One, Two” or “Is My Mic On”, it’s basically because I want you to listen up.
So Listen Up!
I recently entered a contest offered through John Chow of JohnChow.com. He was offering 10 free Networking Plus Passes to the Affiliate Summit East Conference in New York City. As I mentioned in my post on John’s wall as I entered his contest,
I told myself at the beginning of the year, that I would be at this conference no matter what I had to do. It was embedded in my head and I pretty much gave it a shot by posting a comment on this man’s website. Now you might be asking yourself, who’s John Chow. He’s a very well know blogger, entrepreneur and speaker in the online marketing arena. If you don’t know, now you know! Me getting a shot at winning a pass would mean that I would be able to attend sessions to learn more about affiliate marketing, meet new people by networking in the Meet Market, and rub shoulders with Big Dawgs at parties such as Affiliate Ball, Clickbooth, Share-A-Sale and maybe catch dinner with my good friend and Big Dawg himself, Ian Fernando.
Anywho, the moral of my story is that I gave it a shot. I put one foot in front of the other and said, “Go for it. What do you have to lose?” and now I am one of John Chow’s 10 winners for a network plus pass. Plus, I get to wear a shirt that says, “I’m with John Chow B***h!” Haha.
This is my story and the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey.
